So, this is what happened to me today… True Story!

Monday, 20 March 2017: Yesterday was the first of the three Mother’s day we celebrate here in Qatar.. The UK one, which the kids celebrate as they study in a British School, followed by the Mother’s day celebrated in the Arab world and last but definitely not the least (and the most widely celebrated one) in May. I don’t mind celebrating it three times.. with extra hugs and cuddles.

Whenever a Virus enters our home, everyone plays host to the visiting Virus. Needless to say, all 3 of my kids get sick and I struggle with remembering, whose temperature I checked and gave which medicines to which kid at what time!! (I literally have to keep a list and write it all down). We have been playing host to such a virus for the last 7-8 days now, my kids have been sick and its been an exhausting week with visits to the doctor, alternating between Brufen/Adol and sleepless nights.

In the midst of all this chaos, I managed to write a blogpost yesterday night hoping to post it today morning because in my mind it was Mother’s day today! (I am obviously exhausted and losing my mind!). I met a friend this morning (who is from UK and a mum of three beautiful children) and here is how the conversation unfolded between us….

Me: “Happy Mother’s Day my Brit friend!”

My Friend: “Same to you.. but wasn’t it supposed to be on Sunday? ”

Me (with the realization sinking in that it’s Monday today): “It’s Monday today?? Oh yeah.. Oh Crap! Lol! I didn’t realize and missed it! I even had a blog post ready for Mother’s day, which I obviously didn’t post in time! ”

My Friend:“Ooops, I didn’t remember it either.. didn’t even wish my mum!”

Me: “Blame the different time zones we live in! ”

This was THE conversation between two mothers of 3 children, trying to keeping their act together as a mother – balancing home, 3 kids and their endless list of homework, projects, workshops, activities and health issues, ALL at the same time!

True Story!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there, who are giving it their all and losing their mind in the process.. yet love being a mum! 🙂 You are doing the toughest, yet the most rewarding job in the world!

And as I posted this blogpost, another friend reminded me that Mother’s day is on 26th March 2017 in UK! LOL .. Totally losing it for sure!

Tuesday, 21 March 2017: When I woke up this morning, I got loads of Mother’s day messages.. and I was like.. Now what! What is going on? So it turns out that its Mother’s Day in the Middle East today! (Aaaah, that makes sense.. that’s why I was seeing all the Mother’s day stuff around and thought I missed it! ) I am not losing  it that much, it seems! (Thank God for this realization!)
